Jan. 30, 2008
Well we had a new addition to our family yesterday. My sis in law Crystal had a baby boy. Jeremiah was born via c-section yesterday morning. He was 20 in. and 7lb. 12 oz. Baby and Mommy are doing really well and we have heard that he is a handsome little guy.
Shawn is home sick today. I finally got Garrett back to school and Shawn woke up this morning with a temp of 103.5 he is doing ok right now. His temp is back down in the 100 area. He has the same cough and cold as Garrett had but much worse. He is on the couch asleep right now. I feel bad for his he can't really even stand up. So please pray he get better quickly. We are supposed to go to Vegas this weekend so hopefully no one else get sick too.
School is going really well. I think for the first time ever I get excited to go to school each day. I am sculpting for the first time. I am making a full size baby in the womb. So far I have the head done and that has take about 8 hours. I have 1 week to finish it. I just hope I can get it done.
As far as weight goes I am still taking a little break from the diet world. I am still maintaing as far as I know. I forgot to weigh myself the last 2 days. The beach trip is coming in 5 months and I am hoping to be to my goal weight by then. Bathing suit ready yikes!

Happy Monday.

What a great weekend we had. We went to the Garth Brooks concert on Sat. night. We had really good seat. garth is great in concert, He is so entertaining. I added some pics from the concert. I was trying to take a cute pic of Shawn and I and after 8 tried I got one. I ended up liking this one the best. I was crying from laughing so hard. Shawn made the stupidest faces everytime. As you can see Matt joined in on the fun. The second is our great seats 4 rows from the stage. The last is Garth. Sun. we went to pick the kids up from Shawn's parents and Garrett is sick. He is home from school today. He can seem to stop coughing. He was up alot last night. Poor guy, please pray that he feels better and no one else gets it. We are going to see George Strait next weekend in Vegas as long as the kids aren't sick. George Strait in concert for a b-day gift. You cannot beat it.

Ok so I went shopping on Friday for a new shirt to wear to the concert and didn't have time to try it on so just bought a cute shirt in a large. I got home and it is to big. How awesome is that. I washed it in hot water and dried it and it is still to big. In my mind I am bigger then I think. I did the same thing with all my new underwear. I bought the size I thought I would be and they are still too big. Oh well I guess I will be trying things on from now on. Still felt great though.

So with the rain and stuff we are hanging low today. Garrett is curled up in the couch. I have homework and need to make corn chowder for a potluck tomorrow. All in all a lazy day of not leaving the house. Should be a good catch up on things around the house day.

I am actually here. I know it is shocking. I am sorry I have been kind of inconsistent.
Yesterday I went to school and we had our first clay club gathering. We did a 30 min. Tea Pot challenge. The idea was you had 30 min to make a full teapot and then they were judged. There were about 12 people who made teapots. We had fun. They were judged and I would have won 1st place but because I am v.p. I couldn't win. I think it is cool just to know I would have won. Yeah to me.
Lets see this weekend we are going to the Garth Brooks concert. I am excited. The kids are going to their Grandparents and are spending the night. Whoo hoo no kids for like 20 hours.
What else is going on in our world. The kids are starting Karate tonight. They are so excited. They have been walking around making karate noises and kicking things. It has been fun. I can't wait until they actually learn something.
Weight wise I am still maintaining. I am at 163 this morning. I am planning on restarting strict again after my B-day. I need to fit into all the cute clothes before summer. Before this diet I wore a 2x in shirts and a 20 in pants. Now I am a 12 in pants and a L in shirts. I love being able to go into a store and fit into all kinds of things. I am a clothes addict. I change about 10 times every morning. I think it drives Shawn crazy. The only problem I have is they are always out of 12's I guess it is a popular size. I would love to be an 8 by the end of all of this all though a 10 would be fantastic as well.

Jan. 23, 2007
Well as you can tell we have been really busy. I have to admit I did have a few min. to post yesterday but as soon as I sat down with my computer I was so tired I simply checked my email and then went to make dinner. School has set in and life doesn't slow down for it. In my free time I am reading for class so I guess even that is not really free time.
Sat. we went to Dave and Busters for our anniversary and then to dinner. We had fun. We really don't get to much time away from the boys. We had a few drinks and played some games. It was fun and relaxing.
Today I have to make chair covers for Cody's class. I told his teacher I would have them done over Christmas break but never sat to do it so today it is.
I am doing ok on the diet road. I am maintaining. I am at 163 today. I go up a few and then back down a few. I want to lose more but I am sure when the weather warms up and the shorts come back out I will get my butt in gear.
I won't post tomorrow but I will get back on my game and post the other days. Sorry about the long breaks.

Happy Anniversary Baby! Today is our 11th wedding anniversary. I still can't believe it has been that long.
What a busy week it has been again. Life just never slows down, if anything it speeds up. I had a great day at school yesterday. I learned this week how to develope my own film and then from the negatives print black and white pics. It was fun but detailed work.
In ceramics yesterday we sculpted from the nude form. Thats right we had a nude model came in and we had to sculpt her. What an experiance. I went in thinking it was crazy. I tried not to look at her very much. By the end it was not even a nude woman in front of me but art, no actually she was still just a nude woman. Wierd part was I sat really close not by choice but that is just how it worked out. She would take breaks in between poses and we would chat. By the end I just wanted this poor young 20 year old to put her clothes on. Fun experiance but I don't think I would put myself in that situation again.
Well Shawn and I are going to lunch and a movie tomorrow. So all diets off. I have not been great on the diet stuff the last few days. We had dinner company so we ordered pizza a few days ago. Yesterday by the time I got home couldn't do anything else so picked up mexican. Tonight we might do chinese or sushi something fun. So needless to say I have no idea what I weigh today. I jumped out of bed to say hi to Shawn before he had to rush off to work. I will restart again on Monday. Good thing is I kind of am maintaining my weight even though I have good and bad days so yeah.

Sorry it took me so long to post today. I have homework, kids, a house, Shawn's car is in the shop because his trunk won't stay closed, and endless laundry. Makes me tired just to write it.
Shawn is now getting the biys ready in the morning so I had to clean out the boys drawers and make sure the stuff in them actually fix them. While I was cleaning their drawers I decided to clean out a few of mine. I finally had to clean out my underwear drawer. I realized the other day that I was still wearing some underwear that were so big they would fall down under my clothes and I would have to descritly pull them back up which is not easy. So I got rid of all the granny panties:)
I weighed in this morning at 159.6 so slowly going down.
Well I ahve school tomorrow and will post again on Friday.

First and formost Happy Birthday to My Mother in law Connie. I hope you enjoy your day.
Ok well I had a great weekend. Lots of visiting and enjoying my familys company. We had a shower for my sis in law that went really well. All woman and food. That night we went to Benihanas for dinner. More food and family. Sun was a bday party for my Brother and niece and you guessed it more food. Why do we base all celebrations around food. My guess is everyone loves food so instead of learning not to like food and only eating for hunger I need to learn to not love all foods. Just kidding. I really need to work on control of what actually goes in the mouth.
After a great weekend. I weighed in this morning 2 pounds up from Friday so back at 161. OUCH. I am so tired of the up and down game. I get a fresh start today which is the best news ever but I need to not go up every weekend. Next weekend is our 11th anniversary, in a few weekends we are going to a Garth Brooks concert, and the last weekend of the month we are going to Vegas to see George strait so maybe we will start the not gaining on the weekends in Feb. oh wait My birthday is Feb 7th so maybe...see my dilemma. So portion control is the name of the game for the next few months.

TGIF is all I have to say today. This week has been just a readjustment week. The boys are back in school, Pj back to daycare, me back to school, and a new diet. I think it is alot for 1 week but we are doing ok with it all.
I have a ton of homework this weekend for my photoraphy class. I am actually looking forward to coming up with ideas that may be a little different then the "normal" pictures my teacher sees.
Yesterday the Clay club at my school had their first meeting of the new quarter. Clay club plans artists to come visit, sales like the one I sold my jewelry at last quarter. I was nominated as Vice president by one of the girls in the club and when we voted I won. So you are now looking at the vice president. I am excited because the club is lackig orginization and I am ready to help get it going.
The diet is going well. I was going to do low carb mixed with weight watchers but now that I have been doing it a few days I am not really doing low carb. I do eat low carb bagels, tortillas, but everything has carbs and if I am doing it more to learn how to live I have decided to add the carbs back in. It is too hard to maintain a low carb lifestyle while the rest of my family is eating carbs that I have to make for their dinner. So here is what I ate for dinner the last few days.
Wed. Chicken with Fat free cream of mushroom soup, barley instead of rice and green beans with a special treat being a hawiian roll.
Thur- a huge salad with shrimp, egg, string cheese, roasted corn, garbanzo beans, and dressing.
I did have a little oops yesterday. I forgot my lunch. I had $2 in my wallet so I hit taco bell where I know there are a few things on the menu that I can have. I ordered a bean burrito fresco style, so yummy but 8 points. Oops. I did stay at my points for the day but no snack in the evening for me.
I weighed in this morning at 159.0 so down a little from Tuesday. Slower then the low carb diet for sure but the scale is still moving.
Well I am off to get ready for the weekend. We are helping out at a baby shower, and we have 2 birthday parties, and green bay plays tomorrow. Go Pack Go.

I had a really good day going back to school yesterday. I went to my photography class first where I learned all the supplies I would need for the class. He let us out 32 hours early so we could go get some of the supplies. I was on a mission to Ontario Mills to a photo shop. I then was back to campus to the bookstore to buy all the stuff the store was sold out of. I now am $400 in the hole with a bunch of photography stuff that I hopefully will learn to use. Good think is I now own a really nice 35 mm camera. I then went to ceramics where about 1/2 of the class was new faces. Should be a fun semester getting to know everyone.
I did great on my diet yesterday.
breakfast was a low carb begal with fat free cream cheese and coffee
lunch I had a yogurt, string cheese, pear, carrots, and a diet coke
snack was a new skinny mocha latte from starbuck, It was good and only 130 calories.
dinner was tacos that were so good on low carb tortillas and 1/2 c. beans
snack I had the munchies and ate about a pound of carrots.
I am posting my eating on this site because I have a few new friends who I have meet online who are also dieting and I thought this way I can share what I eat to give them ideas. I am also a memeber of an online site for dieting and some of the woman are scared and commenting that maybe I am not getting enough calories and this is why I am losing so quickly. I want people to know that I am eating healthy foods at around 1200 calories a day. I would never want to harm my body. So here you go girls comment now.
I weighed in this morning at 161.2 I am not sure what my weight has been but Mon. I weighed in at 164. something. so I am losing. Shawn is doing great as well. He is down a pound from yesterday. Yeah Baby!
Well today I am going to finish the laundry I started on Frinday of last week. Life gets so busy sometimes. You know what I am talking about. I also an planning games for my sis on laws babay shower for this Sat. So I have a busy day ahead. Last on my list of to dos is to watch the biggest loser that I have tivo'd before I hear what happened. I love that show.

Good Morning and Monday to everyone. Today marks my life as going back to normal. The kids are off to school, I am home with Pj getting the house ready for the week. I go back to school tomorrow. I am actually looking forward to going back to school. I am going to be taking ceramics, Photography, and another art history.
So I am taking a new turn in the diet adventure. I am having a really hard time getting back on my diet for a few reasons. I am actually happy with my weight right now I still want to lose a little more but when you are really unhappy like I used to be it makes it easier to eat eggs all day long. I am now looking to start losing a little slower but doing it in a manner which will be life long. I am going to eat fruits, veggies, all the stuff you actually need. Shawn has decided to start a diet as well. He really likes the weight watchers points. We are going to do the points diet but I am still going to monitor my carbs but not as low as I was going. Mainly I am still going to do alot like what I was doing but in a healthier manner. On the points diet I am looking at losing about 2 pounds a week. If I do it for a few weeks and don't see a lose I may go back to the old diet but for now I am going to switch it up a little. I just would really like to be to my goal weight by this summer so 30 pounds in 6 months seems like nothing.
Well off to get ready for the week. I will not post tomorrow. I have to be at school at 8am and don't have to take my laptop for any classes. I will try to post tomorrow night but if not I am for sure back on Wed.

Happy Friday everyone. Well I amde it through another day of dieting. Yesterday was by far the hardest day I have had while dieting this time. I got to the point that I took a bath to keep myself from eating. We watched a movie as a family last night and then Shawn and I watch another movie after the kids had gone to bed. I ate ice, alot of it instead of getting something else to munch on. I actually was mad that I couldn't eat what I wanted. I feel a little better in that area today. However I do have the low carb flu thing starting. It is when your body is readjusting to low carb and not living off of carbs. You get dizzy, tired, nauseus, feel like you have the flu for a day or two and then all of the sudden you feel so much better with tons of energy. Bad part about not feeling great today is it is Friday cleaning day and Shawn is having some people over for football tomorrow so I need to get the house ready for it. I guess life goes on.
I start back to school on Tuesday. I am excited to go back and see everyone and start back in my art. I am not excited about juggling classes, kids, house, life. Monday I am going to get the house all ready for 10 weeks of neglect.
I had to go to the DMV yesterday to renew my license. When I first got my notice I was bummed that I had to go. After showing Shawn he brought upp a good point. I got to change my weight on my license. What a great feeling. I also am going to get a new photo. My last one was terrible so all in all it was a good experiance.
I weighed in this morning at 160 even so down a little more from yesterday. I am just happy the scale is going doawn again.

Yesterday was the hardest diet day I think I have had on this diet. I wanted to eat bad stuff so bad. I had a terrible day. I made it through and feel great that I did. I weighed in this morning at 161.6. Yeah! I am off to do some shopping and run around and take care of some things.

A new day means a new start. I am officially restarting my diet today. I took a long break for the holidays and am now so ready to get back on plan. I have been posting some info for my diet because I get asked all the time for the details.
I weighed in this morning at 165.2. Ouch, I payed for all the cookies, snacks, and comfy foods the holidays brought my way. The important thing is I am getting back on plan again. I think I will lose some of it fast because a bunch is water weight and yuck I am dragging around.

January 1, 2008 Part 2
I have had so many people ask me what my secret is and what I am doing to lose weight. I didn't realize until recently that I never put my "plan" on here. For our annual beach trip I went throught the magazine rack at the market and bought a whole bunch of junk to read for the week. I had no idea that it would change my life. I was in my chair on the beach watching the kids play and the guys swim when I was the most unhappy with myself then I had ever been. I happened to be reading Womans world magazine and saw a story of a woman who had lost 100 pounds in 5 months. When we got home from our trip I decided that it was time to fix me. I went online and researched the diet I had been reading about on the beach. It was called Kimkins. Basically it is low carb, low fat, low calorie. Boring I know.
On July 7th I started the diet with the thought that if I didn't see results fast I would just quit like the million other times I had before. I wrote down my weight every day in a journal, I started this blog, and I asked people to help me and sponsor the pounds , and I started posting on a website called I realized that people helping keep me accountable was something I really needed. I started doing the diet really strictly. I needed to break all my bad habits like tv eating, board eating, lonely eating. In the first week I lost 11.4 pounds. I had done weight watchers before and lost 11 pounds in 6 weeks not 1. I continued with the diet and on week 2 I had lost a total of 16.4 pounds. Are you kidding me. So i have been on the diet for 6 mo. and lost 64. I cheat once in awhile but the biggest thing I have learned is if you cheat you cannot blow the rest of the day. The next day is a whole new start. I feel so much better when I am dieting. My self confidence is so much better. I now know that I will struggle with weight the rest of my life. My eating right and losing weight is not a quick fix, I will have to think about it forever. I know for me my weight was hiding alot of crap from my past. I learned to let it go and I am a much better person now.
So here is the plan fro Kimkins but modified to the Ali plan.
Ther first week is a getting your body off of living on carbs week. It sucks because you may feel what they call the low carb flu. You will feel tired and out of it for a few days but once you get all the carbs out you will feel great.
The first 3-5 days or longer if you can stand it you do lean meat and eggs.
Lean meats are chicken, turkey, fish, seafood, basically any meat trimmed of fat and not using oil or fat to cook it. I did a ton of shrimp boiled in water, chicken on the bbq, ground turkey, and canned tuna.
All the eggs you can handle and prepared any way you want that doesn't include oil to cook them. Hard boiled, poached, scrambled, I did a lot of hard boiled
Here is the fun part. No cheese, veggies, alcohol, dairy. Just meat and eggs. You will lose quickly in this part of the plan.
Once you can't handle anymore eggs and meat you move onto the diet
you can still have all the lean protein you want
all the eggs you want
You can add in things with carbs but no more then 20 carbs a day. (I use mine for coffee creamer, salad dressing,)
up to 3 cups of veggies a day but NO carrots, corn, beans, peas, potatoes, So you can have lettace, spinich, broccoli, green beans, onion, asparagus, pea pods, tomato, basicall yanything but the No list.
Here are the modified Ali additions
I eat yogurt once a day. I buy Dannon Light and Fit sugar and carb control.
I eat string cheese as a snack when I have to. I tend to eat it once or twice a day.
I eat mayo but really sparingly.
I added in tofu but only like 2 times a week.
I eat jello ince in awhile for a sweet treat but it has to be the sugar free and check the carbs on the back to make sure it is low in carbs.
Lots of vinegar and woshishire sauce as salad dressing because I had a really hard time finding low carb dressing that wasn't off the charts in fat and calories at the same time.
taco's with ground turkey alot but i use romain instead of a tortilla.
I found protein shakes at wal mart that are cheap and low carb, I do these when I am not hungry but know I need to eat something.
I love on Splenda. It does have carbs but not to many if you are careful. There is 1 carb in each package of it.
if I have to eat away from home I know there are 2 safe choices.
In and out protein style burger
McDonalds- grilled chicken breast patty (they are $1) and a side salad with a ton of pepper instead of dressing.

You will see rally quickly what add ins work for you and which slow down you weight loss. I added in black beans as well but not until like 3 mo into the diet and only once in awhile.
Make sure you take a multi vitamen every day. I didn't do this and started to see a little bit of hair loss. Just be careful and even when you are not hungry eat something small.

Happy New Year. For todays post I decided to do a few thing. Shawn and I usually use the New Year to look back at what we have done in the past year. Here is what I have done in 2007
-celebrated our 10 year anniversary
-turned 29 years old
-Celebrated our 1 year anniversary in our house.
-Started a Csu San Bernardino as a Junior
-Home schooled the boys for the summer.
-nursed Shawns softball injuries
-Succeded in keeping the kids alive and well for one more year.
-Lost 64 pounds.

Here is what my plan is for 2008
- Celebrate our 11 year anniversary
- Turn the big 30!
- Continue with school and get great grades.
-Keep the kids alive and well one more year.
- Continue my weight loss journey

My New Years Resolution was hard this year. I have for so many years said to lose weight well I am going to continue with that but I want to better myself by working on something else that bothers me about me. I am going to work on being more willing to do things and look forward to them. I tend to be homebound. If Shawn goes fishing I stay home with PJ. I tend to still worry about what people will think if I dance in public, sing out loud, have fun once inawhile. So I am going to be more willing to do the things that I tend to reserve myself from doing. I am going to live a little. So if you see me danceing like an idiot or singing out load maybe riding a skateboard or swimming in the ocean don't think I am crazy instead join in and have fun. I am going to look forward to the unplanned, non controlled, off the wall situations in 2008.
